IBM (IBM) Tops Q4 EPS by 3c, FY19 EPS Guidance Beats Consensus

IBM (NYSE: IBM) reported Q4 EPS of $4.87, $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of $4.84. Revenue for the quarter came in at $21.8 billion versus the consensus estimate of $21.75 billion.

GUIDANCE:

IBM sees FY2019 EPS of at least $13.90, versus the consensus of $13.84.

  • The company expects GAAP diluted earnings per share of at least $12.45, and operating (non-GAAP) diluted earnings per share of at least $13.90. Operating (non-GAAP) diluted earnings per share exclude $1.45 per share of charges for: amortization of purchased intangible assets and otheracquisition-related charges, including pre-closing charges, such as financing costs, associated with the Red Hat acquisition; retirement-related charges; and tax reform enactment impacts.
  • IBM expects free cash flow of approximately $12 billion, with a realization rate of approximately 100 percent of GAAP Net Income.
