CVS Corporation (CVS) Reports Revenues for December, Q4 and FY06

CVS Corporation (NYSE: CVS) announced that total revenues for the five-week period ended December 30, 2006 increased 24.2% to $5.0 billion, compared to $4.0 billion in the prior year period, including the impact of the June 2, 2006, acquisition of 701 standalone Sav-On and Osco drugstores. Total pharmacy revenues represented 65.8% of total company revenues in December.

Same store sales (sales from stores open more than one year) for the five weeks ended December 30, 2006 increased 8.5% over the prior year period. Pharmacy same store sales increased 10.4%, despite being negatively impacted by approximately 350 basis points due to recent generic introductions.

For the fourth quarter, total revenues for the thirteen-week period ended December 30, 2006, increased 24.0% to $12.1 billion, compared to $9.7 billion in the prior year. (Current Q4 revenue consensus is $12.07 billion)

For the full year, total revenues for the fifty-two week period ended December 30, 2006, increased 18.4% to $43.8 billion, compared to $37.0 billion in 2005. (Current FY revenue consensus is $43.8 billion)
