Mizuho Securities analyst Irina Koffler reiterated a Buy rating and $35 price target on Bausch Health Companies (NYSE: BHC) after Bryhali received tentative FDA approval. Koffler called this a "positive catalyst" for the company.
"While we don't yet have an approved label, we can glean from the press release that Bryhali may be a slightly milder and more tolerable form of Ultravate," Koffler commented. "For example, Bryhali did not show skin atrophy after 8 weeks of dosing (and this adverse event was detected in Ultravate after 2 weeks of treatment). Also, 1% of patients in the Ultravate trials developed spider veins after 2 weeks of treatment. It is still unclear if Bryhali will be labeled for longer-term use but we are encouraged by the press release which hints at tolerability benefits over Ultravate and a longer dosing regimen."
