SciClone Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: SCLN) 17% HIGHER; Submits Regulatory Application for DC Bead in China. The Company and Sigma-Tau Complete Enrollment in Phase 3 Triple Therapy Hepatitis C Clinical Trial.

Threshold Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: THLD) 14% HIGHER; announced top-line results from the Phase 2 clinical trial of glufosfamide in combination with gemcitabine for the treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer.

Sento Corp. (Nasdaq: SNTO) 14% LOWER; gives back some of today's 68.75% gains following earnings.

First Cash Financial Services Inc. (NASDAQ: FCFS) 5% HIGHER; will replace Republic Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ: RBNC) in the S&P SmallCap 600 index after the close of trading on Friday, December 29. Republic is being acquired by Citizens Banking Corp. (NASDAQ: CBCF) in a deal expected to close on or about that date, pending final approvals.

China Netcom (NYSE: CN) 3.5% LOWER; Denies its in talks to acquire assets of China Unicom

Openwave Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: OPWV) 2% HIGHER; Harbinger Capital plans to elect two to the company's board.

Apple Computer Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) 1.8% LOWER; reports from the Financial Times that CEO Steve Jobs was given 7.5 million stock options in 2001 without the required board authorization. The report said records showing a full board meeting had taken place to approve the award was later falsified.
