Gap, Inc. (GPS) Tops Q2 EPS by 4c, Comps Increase 2%

Gap, Inc. (NYSE: GPS) reported Q2 EPS of $0.76, $0.04 better than the analyst estimate of $0.72. Revenue for the quarter came in at $4.1 billion versus the consensus estimate of $4.01 billion.
On this basis, the company’s second quarter comparable sales increased 2% compared with a 1% increase last year. Comparable sales by global brand for the second quarter were as follows:
- Old Navy Global: positive 5% versus positive 5% last year
- Gap Global: negative 5% versus negative 1% last year
- Banana Republic Global: positive 2% versus negative 5% last year
Guidance:
Reaffirmed Full-Year Earnings Per Share Guidance Range of $2.55 to $2.70 vs $2.57 expected.
