TransUnion (TRU) Tops Q3 EPS by 3c, Beats on Revenues; Boosts FY17 Revenue Guidance

TransUnion (NYSE: TRU) reported Q3 EPS of $0.49, $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of $0.46. Revenue for the quarter came in at $498 million versus the consensus estimate of $475.25 million.

2017 Full Year Outlook

For the full year of 2017, we are raising our revenue, Adjusted EBITDA and Adjusted Diluted Earnings per Share guidance as follows. Consolidated revenue is expected to be between $1.910 billion and $1.915 billion, an increase of 11 to 12 percent on a constant currency basis. Adjusted EBITDA is expected to be between $741 million and $743 million, an increase of 16 to 17 percent. Adjusted Diluted Earnings per Share is expected to be between $1.85 and $1.86, an increase of 23 percent.

Consistent with our previous full year guidance, the full year revenue guidance includes approximately 1 percent growth from acquisitions, with no significant impact on revenue and Adjusted EBITDA from foreign exchange rates. Our guidance excludes the impact of any incremental revenue from Equifax related to credit monitoring that they are providing to consumers.

2017 Fourth Quarter Outlook

The full year 2017 guidance above equates to fourth quarter 2017 guidance as follows. Consolidated revenue is expected to be between $482 million and $487 million, an increase of 10 to 11 percent on a constant currency basis compared with the fourth quarter of 2016. Adjusted EBITDA is expected to be between $189 million and $191 million, an increase of 12 to 13 percent. Adjusted Diluted Earnings per Share is expected to be between $0.47 and $0.48, an increase of 7 to 9 percent.

The fourth quarter revenue guidance includes approximately 2 percent growth from acquisitions, with no significant impact on revenue and Adjusted EBITDA from foreign exchange rates. Our guidance excludes the impact of any incremental revenue from Equifax related to credit monitoring that they are providing to consumers.

GUIDANCE:

TransUnion sees FY2017 EPS of $1.85-$1.86, versus the consensus of $1.83. TransUnion sees FY2017 revenue of $1.91-1.915 billion, versus the consensus of $1.88 billion.
