Cerner (CERN) Misses Q3 EPS by 10c, Miss on Revenues; Q4 EPS/Revenue Guidance Below Consensus

Cerner (NASDAQ: CERN) reported Q3 EPS of $0.52, $0.10 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.62. Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.28 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.29 billion.
Other 2017 Third Quarter Highlights:
- Third quarter operating cash flow of $362.9 million.
- Third quarter Free Cash Flow of $222.9 million. Free Cash Flow is a non-GAAP financial measure defined as GAAP cash flows from operating activities less capital purchases and capitalized software development costs. - Third quarter days sales outstanding of 73 days, down from 76 days in the year-ago period.
- Total backlog of $16.53 billion, up 7 percent over the year-ago quarter.
GUIDANCE:
Cerner sees Q4 2017 EPS of $0.60-$0.62, versus the consensus of $0.68. Cerner sees Q4 2017 revenue of $1.3-1.35 billion, versus the consensus of $1.36 billion.
