CVS Corporation (CVS) Reports a 9.3% Increase in October Same-Store Sales

CVS Corporation (NYSE: CVS) announced that total revenues for the four-week period ended October 28, 2006 increased 24.4% to $3.5 billion, compared to $2.8 billion in the prior year period, including the impact of the June 2, 2006, acquisition of 701 standalone Sav-On and Osco drugstores.
Total pharmacy revenues represented 70.7% of total company revenues in October.
Same store sales (sales from stores open more than one year) for the four weeks ended October 28, 2006 increased 9.3% over the prior year period. Pharmacy same store sales increased 10.7%, despite being negatively impacted by approximately 350 basis points due to recent generic introductions.
