Mercantile Bankshares Corp. (Nasdaq: MRBK) 21% HIGHER; PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: PNC) and Mercantile Bankshares announced that they have signed a definitive agreement for PNC to acquire Mercantile for $47.24 per share, or approximately $6.0 billion in stock and cash.
Powerwave Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: PWAV) 16.7% LOWER; anticipates that revenues for its third quarter ending October 1, 2006 will be in the range of $155 million to $160 million. This updates previous expectations of revenues in the range of $200 million to $210 million for the third quarter. The consensus is $206.2 million.
NetRatings, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTRT) 15% HIGHER; VNU Group B.V. is proposing to acquire the outstanding publicly held minority interest in NetRatings for $16.00 per share in cash, representing a 10% premium over the Company's closing price on October 6, 2006.
Cablevision Systems Corp. (NYSE: CVC) 13.7% HIGHER; Charles F. and James L. Dolan, on behalf of members of the Dolan Family Group, announced that they have proposed to purchase 100 percent of the outstanding publicly held shares of common stock of Cablevision for $27 per share.

(NASDAQ: CNXS) INDICATED HIGHER; GlaxoSmithKline plc (NYSE: GSK) and CNS, Inc. announced execution of a definitive agreement for GSK to acquire CNS, the manufacturer of Breathe Right nasal strips and FiberChoice dietary fiber supplements for $37.50 per share in cash, valuing the transaction at approximately $566 million.
