Vitamin Shoppe (VSI) Misses Q3 EPS by 1c; Updates FY16 EPS Outlook

Vitamin Shoppe (NYSE: VSI) reported Q3 EPS of $0.50, $0.01 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.51. Revenue for the quarter came in at $314.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $317.18 million.

Total comparable sales were down 1.9% in the quarter driven by a 2.3% decline in retail store comparable sales partially offset by a 1.7% increase in e-commerce comparable sales. Manufacturing third party sales increased 11.2% from the same period of the prior year. The Company opened five stores in the quarter and closed two.

GUIDANCE:

Vitamin Shoppe sees FY2016 EPS of $2.10-$2.20, versus the consensus of $2.17.
