Panera Bread (PNRA) Tops Q2 EPS by 4c, Total Comps Increase 2.3%

Panera Bread (NASDAQ: PNRA) reported Q2 EPS of $1.78, $0.04 better than the analyst estimate of $1.74. Revenue for the quarter came in at $698.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $696.46 million.

In fiscal Q2 2016, Company-owned comparable net bakery-cafe sales increased 4.2%, franchise-operated comparable net bakery-cafe sales increased 0.6%, and system-wide comparable net bakery-cafe sales increased 2.3% compared to the same period in fiscal 2015.

GUIDANCE:

Panera Bread sees FY2016 EPS of $6.60-$6.70, versus the consensus of $6.68.
