Capella Education (CPLA) Tops Q2 EPS by 6c

Capella Education (NASDAQ: CPLA) reported Q2 EPS of $0.93, $0.06 better than the analyst estimate of $0.87. Revenue for the quarter came in at $106.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $105.93 million.

Capella University total active enrollment increased 2.4 percent to 38,231 learners, new enrollment increased by 2.5 percent compared to second quarter 2015, and early cohort persistence improved by approximately 4 percent.

GUIDANCE:

Capella Education sees FY2016 EPS of $3.30-$3.40, versus the consensus of $3.42. Capella Education sees FY2016 revenue of $424-428 million, versus the consensus of $421.3 million.
