Proofpoint (PFPT) Tops Q2 EPS by 13c; Guides Above the Street

Proofpoint (NASDAQ: PFPT) reported Q2 EPS of $0.06, $0.13 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.07). Revenue for the quarter came in at $89.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $84.22 million.

“Our ability to exceed second quarter expectations was driven by broad-based demand across all of our cloud-based solutions,” stated Gary Steele, chief executive officer of Proofpoint. “During the quarter, Proofpoint also benefited from continued high competitive win rates, robust renewal and add-on activity, as well as the overall move to the cloud. Looking forward, we remain confident in our ability to maintain the momentum and grow market share globally, given the improved competitive landscape and the value we are creating with our expanding partner ecosystem.”

GUIDANCE:

Proofpoint sees Q3 2016 EPS of $0.04-$0.06, versus the consensus of ($0.01). Proofpoint sees Q3 2016 revenue of $93.5-94.5 million, versus the consensus of $90.73 million.

Proofpoint sees FY2016 EPS of $0.06-$0.10, versus the consensus of ($0.13). Proofpoint sees FY2016 revenue of $361.5-363.5 million, versus the consensus of $352.75 million.
