CVS Corporation (CVS) Reports Increase in Same-Store Sales for August and Full-Year

CVS Corporation (NYSE: CVS) announced that total revenues for the four-week period ended August 26, 2006 increased 23.4% to $3.4 billion, compared to $2.8 billion in the prior year period, including the impact of the June 2, 2006, acquisition of 701 standalone Sav-On and Osco drugstores.
Total pharmacy revenues represented 70.4% of total company revenues in August.
Same store sales (sales from stores open more than one year) for the four weeks ended August 26, 2006 increased 8.9% over the prior year period.
Year-to-date, total revenues for the thirty-four week period ended August 26, 2006, increased 15.2% to $27.4 billion, compared to $23.8 billion in 2005. Same store sales for the thirty-four week period increased 7.9% over the prior year period.
Total pharmacy revenues represented 70.4% of total company revenues in August.
