Scripps Networks (SNI) Tops Q2 EPS by 21c; Updates Outlook

Scripps Networks (NYSE: SNI) reported Q2 EPS of $1.47, $0.21 better than the analyst estimate of $1.26. Revenue for the quarter came in at $732.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $728.86 million.

2015 Updated Full-year Guidance

While the underlying expectations for the business have not changed, we have updated full year 2015 guidance as a result of the TVN acquisition on July 2, 2015. The company now expects:

  • Total revenue to increase about 12 percent;
  • Cost of services to increase about 24 percent.
  • Selling, general and administrative expenses to increase about 5 percent;
  • Interest expense, to be $80 million to $85 million;
  • Non-controlling share of net income to be $180 million to $190 million; and
  • Capital expenditures to be $65 million to $70 million.
