Genesee & Wyoming (GWR) Tops Q2 EPS by 1c

Genesee & Wyoming (NYSE: GWR) reported Q2 EPS of $0.92, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.91. Revenue for the quarter came in at $542.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $543.65 million.

Same railroad operating revenues, excluding the $18.3 million negative impact of foreign currency depreciation, declined 10.2%, primarily due to weakness in iron ore, utility coal and steel shipments.
