Gordman's Stores (GMAN) Tops Q1 EPS by 5c, Comps Decline 1%, Offers Q2 Guidance

Gordman's Stores (NASDAQ: GMAN) reported Q1 EPS of $0.02, $0.05 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.03). Revenue for the quarter came in at $145.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $147.25 million. Comparable store sales on an owned and licensed basis decreasing 1.0%.
Gordman's Stores sees Q2 2015 revenue of $144-147 million, versus the consensus of $147.29 million -- "which reflects a flat to low-single digit comparable store sales decrease on an owned and licensed basis, with comparable store sales slightly lower on an owned basis. The Company expects gross profit margins to be better than last year as inventory aging and clearance inventories are in better condition than at the end of the first quarter of 2014. Selling, general and administrative expenses are expected to deleverage in the second quarter primarily due to additional depreciation and e-commerce expenses. The Company projects a diluted loss per share in the range of ($0.15) to ($0.12) for the second quarter. The weighted average diluted share count is expected to be approximately 19.4 million."
