Cardiome Pharma Corp. (NASDAQ: CRME) 34% HIGHER; announced interim clinical results from the 300mg dosing group for its Phase 2a pilot study of RSD1235. The safety data for this first of two dosing groups suggests that RSD1235 appears well-tolerated within the target population. The interim analysis further demonstrated a clear positive trend toward efficacy, with 61% (33 of 54) of patients receiving RSD1235 completing the study in normal heart rhythm, as compared to 37% (10 of 27) of patients receiving placebo.
NovaGold Resources Inc. (NYSE: NG) 29% HIGHER; Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE: ABX) intends to make an offer to acquire all the outstanding shares of NovaGold Resources Inc. (AMEX: NG) in order to consolidate its interest in the Donlin Creek project in Alaska, USA, and acquire 100 per cent of the Galore Creek project in British Columbia, Canada. The proposed transaction is valued at approximately US$1.29 billion (or US$1.53 billion on a fully diluted basis) or $14.50 per share.
Industrial Services of America Inc. (NASDAQ: IDSA) 24% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.17 compared to $0.06 for the same period in 2005. Total revenues for the second quarter of 2006 were $17.7 million compared with total revenues for the second quarter of 2005 of $33.4 million.
ATI Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: ATYT) 19% HIGHER; AMD and ATI confirmed plans to merge in a transaction valued at approximately $5.4 billion.
Silicon Laboratories Inc. (Nasdaq: SLAB) 11% HIGHER; reports Q2 (non-GAAP) EPS of $0.37, 4 cents better than estimates. Revenues were $123.5 million vs. $118.69 million consensus. For the third quarter of 2006, the company anticipates revenue of $122 to $127 million. Current consensus is $125.43 million consensus.
Petmed Express (Nasdaq: PETS) 9% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.20, 2 cents better than estimates. Revenues were $50.7 million vs. $52.95 million consensus.
OM Group, Inc. (NYSE: OMG) 7.7% HIGHER; expects diluted earnings per share for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 to be approximately $1.80, up significantly from its previous projected earnings of $0.99 - $1.09 per diluted share.
UAL Corp. (Nasdaq: UAUA) 5.75% HIGHER; sees Q2 EPS of $0.93 versus the consensus of $0.46. Sees revenues of $5.1 billion versus the consensus of $5.04 billion.
Ionatron Inc. (NASDAQ: IOTN) 5% HIGHER; The U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center has signed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with Ionatron, Inc., for the design and testing of ultra-short laser applications utilizing unique features.
NCO Group Inc. (NASDAQ: NCOG) 4.8% HIGHER; entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by One Equity Partners and Michael J. Barrist, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, in a transaction valued at approximately $1.26 billion.
Baidu.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: BIDU) 4% HIGHER; The company and HP announced that all HP Pavilion and HP Presario series computers sold within mainland China will come with Baidu search service already enabled.
HCA Inc. (NYSE: HCA) 4% HIGHER; the company and Bain Capital, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., and Merrill Lynch Global Private Equity announced the execution of a definitive merger agreement under which affiliates of the private equity sponsors and HCA Founder Dr. Thomas F. Frist, Jr. will acquire HCA in a transaction valued at approximately $33 billion, including the assumption or repayment of approximately $11.7 billion of debt.

Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. (NYSE: RL) INDICATED HIGHER; raising its guidance for the first quarter of Fiscal 2007 based on stronger worldwide demand for its products with increased full-price sell throughs both at the Company's retail stores and at better department and specialty stores.
