The Pantry, Inc. (NASDAQ: PTRY) reported Q1 EPS of $0.84, $0.30 better than the analyst estimate of $0.54. Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.68 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.7 billion.

• Comparable store merchandise revenue increased 3.6% as merchandise gross margin improved to 33.8% from 33.5%; and
• Comparable store retail fuel gallons sold increased 3.7% as retail fuel margin per gallon increased to $0.182 from $0.118 in the prior year quarter.
