Document Security Systems (DSS) Reports Q3 Loss of $0.19/Share

November 13, 2014 4:18 PM EST

Document Security Systems (NYSE: DSS) reported Q3 EPS of ($0.19), versus $0.15 reported last year. Revenue for the quarter came in at $5 million, versus $4.3 million reported last year.

The increased net loss was primarily due to the $11.8 million impairment charge, of which $4.7 million was attributable to a 40% non-controlling interest held by another entity, related to DSS' investment in the intellectual property of VirtualAgility. In September 2014, VirtualAgility received an adverse decision in its infringement suit against Salesforce.com, which triggered the impairment charge.
