DST Systems (DST) Higher On Buyout Report

Shares of DST Systems Inc. (NYSE: DST) are seeing interest in pre-open trading Wednesday following reports from Reuters that the company has been the target of various takeover approaches from private equity firms over the past few months.
Activist investor Russell Glass told Reuters he has teamed up with a private equity firm and approached the company about a buyout in the mid-$60s. The company has also held talks in March and April with another private equity firm that was also considering a bid in that price range.
Glass said his offer was turned away.
Shares of DST last traded at $50.83 in pre-open trading, up 5% from yesterday's close of $48.31.
