Unwired Planet, Inc. (NASDAQ: UPIP) 24% HIGHER; announced that it has entered into a patent purchase agreement with Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) whereby Ericsson will transfer to Unwired Planet 2,185 issued US and international patents and patent applications.

KBR Inc. (NYSE: KBR) 8% LOWER; now expects fiscal year 2012 earnings per diluted share between $1.95 to $2.10 excluding the third quarter 2012 goodwill impairment charge. This is below the companys previously communicated guidance range of between $2.60 and $2.80 excluding the third quarter 2012 goodwill impairment charge. Also, KBR expects fiscal year 2013 earnings per diluted share between $2.45 to $2.90. The Street sees 2012 EPS of $2.66 and sees sees 2013 EPS of $2.96.

Xyratex, Ltd. (NASDAQ: XRTX) 4% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of ($0.24), $0.07 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.31). Revenue for the quarter came in at $265.4 million versus the consensus estimate of $255.14 million. Xyratex, Ltd. sees Q1 2013 EPS of ($0.01)-(0.21) versus the consensus of ($0.23). Xyratex, Ltd. sees Q1 2013 revenue of $159-189 million, versus the consensus of $207.2 million.

Colony Financial, Inc. (NYSE: CLNY) 2% LOWER; plans to commence a public offering of 5,000,000 shares of common stock. The Company also plans to grant to the underwriters an option to purchase up to an additional 750,000 shares.

Tillys, Inc. (NYSE: TLYS) 2% LOWER; comparable store sales decreased 1%, compared to a 5% increase for the Holiday period in the prior year. On an adjusted basis, adjusted net income in the fourth quarter is expected to be in the range of $8.1 million to $8.4 million, or $0.29 to $0.30 per diluted share. The Wall Street consensus is $0.32.

Aegerion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: AEGR) 1% HIGHER; intends to offer for sale its common stock in an underwritten public offering. All shares in the offering are being sold by Aegerion.

American Express (NYSE: AXP) 1% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of $1.09, $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of $1.06. Revenue for the quarter came in at $8.1 billion versus the consensus estimate of $8.12 billion. The company also announced it is cutting 5,400 and will take a $400 million restructuring charge.

Synnex Corp. (NYSE: SNX) 1% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of $1.16, $0.12 better than the analyst estimate of $1.04. Revenue for the quarter came in at $2.76 billion versus the consensus estimate of $2.76 billion. Synnex Corp. sees Q1 2013 EPS of $0.85-0.89, versus the consensus of $0.89. Synnex Corp. sees Q1 2013 revenue of $2.38-2.48 billion, versus the consensus of $2.51 billion.
