Q-Med (NASDAQ: QMED) 22% HIGHER; FDA's approval of PERLANE means that will receive the final purchase sum from the agreement 2003 of USD 29.1 million from the American company Medicis, which holds the rights to sell and market PERLANE in the USA and Canada
BSD Medical Corp. (Amex: BSM) 20% HIGHER; concluded an exhibition at the American Brachytherapy Society (ABS) annual conference held in Chicago, Illinois. The ABS Annual conference provides a forum for reporting developments in brachytherapy. Brachytherapy is an interstitial form of radiation, administered by placing radioactive material in the cancer. Head and neck cancers are an important application for brachytherapy, and they were one of the focuses of the meeting. BSD Medical produces systems that are designed to boost the effectiveness of brachytherapy for certain tumors by providing companion interstitial hyperthermia therapy.
MINRAD International, Inc. (AMEX: BUF) 17% HIGHER; announced it has received approval from the FDA to market Sojourn inhalation anesthetic.
YM BioSciences Inc. (AMEX: YMI) 16.2% HIGHER; announced top-line results from its randomized, placebo-controlled Phase IIb trial of AeroLEF in opioid naive patients with post-operative pain following orthopedic surgery. AeroLEF met the primary endpoint of the study, showing a statistically significant difference in SPRID4 from placebo (p=0.0194).

OM Group (NYSE: OMG) 8% HIGHER; reports Q1 earnings from continuing operations of $1.14 per share, ex-items, 30 cents better than estimates. Revenues came in at $216.2 million versus the consensus of $221.3 million.
