NxStage Medical, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXTM) 43% HIGHER; announced a multi-year, national agreement with certain market rights with DaVita (NYSE: DVA), under which and the companies will collaborate on expanding availability of home hemodialysis to patients across the continental United States. DaVita has purchased $20 million in NxStage stock at a price of $10 per share, representing an ownership position of approximately 7%.
SpectraLink Corp. (Nasdaq: SLNK) 31% HIGHER; Polycom, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLCM) and SpectraLink Corp. signed a definitive agreement under which Polycom will acquire SpectraLink. Under the terms of the agreement, Polycom will commence a cash tender offer to purchase all of the outstanding shares of SpectraLink for $11.75 per share.
New Century Financial Corporation (NYSE: NEW) 26% LOWER; will restate its consolidated financial results for the quarters ended March 31, June 30 and September 30, 2006. The company's fourth quarter and full-year 2006 earnings announcement, originally scheduled for February 8, 2007, has been postponed to an undetermined future date.
Syntax-Brillian (Nasdaq: BRLC) 19% LOWER; reports Q2 earnings of $0.25 per share, which may not compare to the consensus of $0.24. Revenues came in at $242.5 million versus the consensus of $241.8 million. Sees Q3 revenues of $160-$170 million versus the consensus of $187.6 million. Sees FY07 revenues of $650-$700 million versus the consensus of $710.8 million.
Mamma.com Inc. (Nasdaq: MAMA) 15% HIGHER; announced an extension to an agreement with Yahoo! Search Marketing, to provide Canadian targeted search traffic to Yahoo! Canada.
Central Garden & Pet (Nasdaq: CENT) 13% LOWER; reports Q1 loss of $0.12 per share, 1 cent better than estimates. Revenues came in at $317 million versus the consensus of $322.6 million. Sees FY07 EPS of $2.50-$2.65 versus the consensus of $2.91. Sees FY07 revenues of $1.72-$1.75 billion versus the consensus of $1.76 billion.
TeleTech (Nasdaq: TTEC) 11.8% HIGHER; reports Q4 earnings of $0.25 per share, ex-items, 4 cents better than estimates. Revenues came in at $336.7 million versus the consensus of $331.4 million. Sees FY07 revenue growth of 15%. Sees FY08 revenue growth of 12%-15%.
Pacer International (Nasdaq: PACR) 11% LOWER; reports Q4 earnings of $0.57 per share, 1 cent worse than estimates. Revenues came in at $502 million versus the consensus of $534.1 million.
Acme Packet (Nasdaq: APKT) 10% LOWER; reports Q4 results, weak guidance.
VISICU, Inc. (Nasdaq: EICU) 9% LOWER; reports Q4 earnings of $0.06 per share, 1 cent better than estimates. Revenues came in at $7.9 million, versus the consensus of $7.8 million. Sees FY07 EPS of $0.26-0.27, ex-items.
Isilon Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: ISLN) 9% LOWER; Revenue for the fourth quarter was $20.7 million. Non-GAAP net loss was $0.06, versus the consensus of $0.06. For the full year 2007, the company expects total revenue to be in the range of $115 million to $125 million. Isilon expects total revenue for the first quarter of 2007 to be in the range of $21.0 million to $23.0 million.
EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC) 9% HIGHER; announced its intention to sell approximately 10% of VMware via an initial public offering (IPO) of newly issued VMware stock.
ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ISTA) 9% HIGHER; announced highly statistically significant results from its initial analysis of the Company's U.S. Phase III clinical trials of Xibrom(TM) (bromfenac sodium ophthalmic solution) once-daily formulation.
Riverbed Technology (Nasdaq: RVBD) 8% LOWER; reports Q4 earnings of $0.03 per share, ex-items, 2 cents better than estimates. Revenues came in at $33.8 million. Riverbed also announced it plans to file with the SEC a registration statement for the offering of 5.0 million shares of its common stock in an underwritten secondary public offering, not including any shares to be sold pursuant to the exercise of an option to purchase additional shares held by the underwriters. Approximately 2.65 million of the shares will be offered by certain Riverbed stockholders.
Alkermes (Nasdaq: ALKS) 7% HIGHER; reports Q3 earnings of $0.03 per share, versus the consensus of a $0.01 loss. Revenues came in at $62.4 million versus the consensus of $54.9 million. Sees FY07 adj EPS of $0.30-$0.35, which may not compare to the consensus of $0.02. Sees FY07 revenues of $221-$243 million versus prior guidance of $206-$228 million and the consensus of $222.47 million.
Affymetrix Inc. (Nasdaq: AFFX) 6% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.13, $0.15 ex-items, versus the consensus of $0.04. Revenues came in at $104.2 million versus the consensus of $100.51 million.
Electronic Data Systems Corp. (NYSE: EDS) 5% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.47, ex-items, 10 cents better than estimates. Revenues came in at $5.7 billion versus the consensus of $5.57 billion. Sees FY07 revenues of $22-$22.5 billion versus the consensus of $22 billion. Sees FY07 EPS of $1.60, ex-items, versus the consensus of $1.44.
General Cable (NYSE: BGC) 5% HIGHER; reports Q4 earnings of $0.67 per share, 8 cents better than estimates. Revenues came in at $925.3 million versus the consensus of $923.9 million. Sees Q1 EPS of $0.75 or higher versus the consensus of $0.65. Sees Q1 revenues of $950 million-$1 billion versus the consensus of $973.2 million.
Penn National Gaming Inc. (Nasdaq: PENN) 4% LOWER; reports Q4 earnings of $0.32 per share, ex-items, versus the consensus of $0.36. Revenues came in at $572.9 million versus the consensus of $571.1 million. Sees Q1 EPS of $0.46 versus the consensus of $0.55. Sees FY07 EPS of $1.86 versus the consensus of $2.13.
Sigmatel Inc. (Nasdaq: SGTL) 4% HIGHER; Eastman Kodak (NYSE: EK) unveiled its partnership with SigmaTel, Inc. (NASDAQ:SGTL - News) to use its mixed signal system on chip (SoC).
Warner Music Group (NYSE: WMG) 3% LOWER; reports Q4 earnings of $0.12 per share, 12 cent worse than estimates. Revenues came in at $928 million versus the consensus of $944.4 million.
Federated Department Stores, Inc. (NYSE: FD) 3.5% HIGHER; said on a same-store, comparable four-week basis, January sales were up 8.6 percent. Raises guidance.
Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX) 2.7% HIGHER; will replace WPS Resources Corp. (NYSE: WPS) in the S&P MidCap 400
Varian Medical Systems Inc. (NYSE: VAR) 1.2% HIGHER; will replace Equity Office Properties Trust (NYSE: EOP) in the S&P 500
Cerner Corp. (NASDAQ: CERN) 1% HIGHER; will replace Varian in the S&P MidCap 400
