Investors Financial Services Corporation (NASDAQ: IFIN) 28% HIGHER; State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT) signed a definitive agreement to acquire Investors Financial Services in a stock transaction valued at approximately $4.5 billion.

Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE: HLF) 19% HIGHER; has received a proposal from Whitney V L.P. and its affiliates to acquire all of the Company's outstanding common stock for $38.00 per share in cash. Whitney and its related parties currently beneficially own an aggregate of approximately 27% of the Company's outstanding common stock.

Triad Hospitals, Inc. (NYSE: TRI) 15% HIGHER; entered into a definitive merger agreement with affiliates of CCMP Capital Advisors and GS Capital Partners in a transaction valued at approximately $6.4 billion, including approximately $1.7 billion of debt. Under the terms of the agreement, affiliates of CCMP Capital and GSCP will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Triad common stock for $50.25 per share in cash.

The Mills Corporation (NYSE: MLS) 13.8% HIGHER; Simon Property Group, Inc. (NYSE: SPG) and Farallon Capital Management, L.L.C. sent a letter to the Board of Directors of The Mills Corporation proposing to enter into a merger agreement to acquire Mills for $24.00 per share in cash.

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (Nasdaq: NVTL) 12% HIGHER; Revenues for the fourth quarter are expected to increase by over 56% year-over-year and by over 38% sequentially to approximately $76 million. Non-GAAP EPS, which excludes stock based compensation expense and the year-end true-up of the Company's net deferred tax assets, is expected to be $0.13 to $0.14 per diluted share using a preliminary tax rate of 30%. These results compare to previous guidance of revenues of $61 to $63 million and non-GAAP EPS of $0.06 to $0.07 per diluted share. (Current consensus is $0.02 and 62.52 million, respectively)

Anadigics, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANAD) 9.7% HIGHER; mentioned in Barron's

Lear Corporation (NYSE: LEA) 8% HIGHER; announced that following discussions with the Company, American Real Estate Partners LP, an affiliate of Carl C. Icahn, has made an offer to acquire all of the issued and outstanding shares of Lear Corporation for $36.00 per share in cash.

Empire Resorts Inc. (Nasdaq: NYNY) 7% HIGHER; reports casino could be approved.

Hanover Compressor Company (NYSE: HC) 7% HIGHER; Hanover Compressor and Universal Compression Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: UCO) said their boards of directors have approved a stock-for-stock merger of equals and that the companies have signed a definitive merger agreement.

State Street Corp. (NYSE: STT) 6% LOWER; signed a definitive agreement to acquire Investors Financial Services in a stock transaction valued at approximately $4.5 billion.

Universal Compression Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: UCO) 4% HIGHER; Hanover Compressor and Universal Compression Holdings said their boards of directors have approved a stock-for-stock merger of equals and that the companies have signed a definitive merger agreement.

Cognizant Technology Solutions (Nasdaq: CTSH) 3.7% HIGHER; reports Q4 GAAP EPS of $0.46 (non-GAAP EPS is $0.50) vs. consensus of $0.43. Revenues were $424.4 million vs. $405.33 million consensus. First quarter 2007 diluted EPS expected to be $0.47 on a GAAP basis, and $0.52 on a non-GAAP basis vs. consensus of $0.44. Fiscal 2007 diluted EPS expected to be at least $2.10 on a GAAP basis, and at least $2.31 on a non-GAAP basis vs. consensus of $2.07.

Rambus Inc. (Nasdaq: RMBS) HALTED; announced that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has issued its order with respect to remedy in the matter against Rambus. The Commission has issued an Order setting the maximum royalty rate that Rambus can collect on sales made of certain JEDEC-compliant parts after the Order becomes effective. Plan to appeal decision.

Longview Fibre Co. (NYSE: LFB) INDICATED HIGHER; entered into a definitive agreement for Brookfield Asset Management to acquire all the outstanding shares of Longview for cash at a price of US$24.75 per share.
