Notable ETF Movers of the Day 10/05: (XHB) (SMH) Higher; (TLT) Lower

Gainers:

SPDR S&P Homebuilders ETF (NYSE: XHB) had another good day today, touching 52-week highs at 26.15. Homebuilders remain one of the best performing sectors of the S&P 500, with some stocks in the space doubling this year. Shares of Home Depot, Inc. (NYSE: HD), which has a 3.6 percent weighting in XHB, gained 2 percent today.

Market Vectors Semiconductor ETF (NYSE: SMH) gained 1 percent to 32.10. Investors in the struggling sector experienced a welcome rally, as shares of the largest chip maker, Intel Corporation (Nasdaq: INTC), gained 1.4. Year-to-date, SMH has lagged the broader maker, gaining only 4 percent.

Decliners:

iShares Barclays 20+ Year Treas Bond ETF (NYSE: TLT) declined 1.3 percent to 121.2 as yields on U.S. treasures rose following the release of jobs numbers in the U.S., which showed gains of 114,000 thousand jobs and a drop in the unemployment rate to 7.8 percent. Yields on 10-year treasures ticked up to 1.73 percent as investors searched out higher risk assets.
