Notable 52-Week Highs and Lows of the Day 06/21: (ARNA) (ONXX) (LCC) High; (JBLU) (OVRL) (HES) Low

This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARNA) high of $11.52. Arena keeps moving higher on literally gobs of volume. Investors are getting more anxious, as the pharma has virtually cross the "event horizon" for pushing its PDUFA date for lorcaserin back.

  • Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ONXX) high of $64.39. Late Wednesday, Onyx received a favorable FDA panel vote of 11 to zero that the benefits of carfilzomib outweigh the risks. Sares ripped 44.4 percent to the new mark Thursday.

  • US Airways Group, Inc. (NYSE: LCC) high of $13.78. US Airways gaining as crude continues lower. Market data today as the commodity moving below $90 per barrel for the first time since December 2010. Lower crude leads to lower jet fuel costs leads to better profits at airlines.

    Other than US Air, JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU) appears to be the only airline in positive territory.
52-Week Low:
  • Key Energy Services, Inc. (NYSE: KEG) low of $7.88. Key hit 19.5 percent after it cut its second-quarter outlook earlier.

  • Hess Corp. (NYSE: HES) low of $41.12. Amid winning a new deal in the North Malay Basin, the energy corp can't escape falling crude prices today. Shares down 7 percent on the session.

  • Overland Storage (Nasdaq: OVRL) low of $1.20. Overland fell as much as 40 percent after it announced earlier that the Administrative Law Judge in the U.S. International Trade Commission action brought by Overland Storage against BDT has issued an initial determination affirming that both of Overland's asserted patents are valid, but finding that BDT has not committed a violation of section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930.

    Overland had alleged that BDT committed section 337 violations based on BDT's activities relating to its allegedly infringing automated tape libraries.
