(NASDAQ: PATH) 18.5% LOWER; today announced the entry into a common stock purchase agreement with Aspire Capital Fund, LLC, which provides that subject to certain conditions and limitations, Aspire has committed to purchase up to $30 million of NuPathe common stock over the next 24 months. Aspire made an initial investment of $500,000 by purchasing 70,721 shares of NuPathe common stock at a purchase price of $7.07 per share

Revenue for the quarter came in at $85.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $83.92 million. Sees FY2011 EPS of $2.45-$2.56, versus prior guidance of $2.21-$2.42 and the consensus of $2.37. Neuralstem, Inc. (Amex: CUR) 12.4% HIGHER; announced it received a U.S. Department of Defense contract to develop its human neural stem cell technology for the treatment of cancerous brain tumors. The research contract, entitled "Research to Treat Cancerous Brain Tumors with Neural Stem Cells," will be carried out in collaboration with Principal Investigator John Zhang, MD, PhD, Professor of Neurosurgery, Loma Linda University, in Loma Linda, CA. The contract award is $1.6 million for the first year of the project, of which Neuralstem will receive $625,000.
