UPWARD MOVERS:
AMREP Corporation (NYSE: AXR) +$9.69; AMREP reports Q2 EPS of $2.42 compared to $0.76 for the same period last year. Revenues were $56.06 million compared to $34.8 million for the same period last year.

China Telecom Corp. Ltd. (NYSE: CHA) +$6.60; China Network (NYSE: CN) says it expects itself and China Telecom to receive 3G mobile licenses from Chinese regulators.

Bandag, Inc. (NYSE: BDG) +$5.35; Bridgestone Americas Holding and Bandag (NYSE: BDG) (NYSE: BDGA) announced that they have entered into a merger agreement pursuant to which Bridgestone Americas will acquire the outstanding shares of each class of stock of Bandag for US$50.75 per share in cash. The transaction is valued at approximately US$1.05 billion.

Baidu.com (Nasdaq: BIDU) +$4.80; Shares are higher this morning after Piper Jaffray said the company could announce a deal with Microsoft that will include China Netcom and China Telecom shortly.

Sanderson Farms (Nasdaq: SAFM) +$2.87; Reports Q4 earnings of $0.39 per share, ex-gains, versus the Bloomberg consensus of $0.26. Revenues came in at $291.7 million versus the Bloomberg consensus of $288.6 million.


DOWNWARD MOVERS:
Nastech Pharmaceutical (Nasdaq: NSTK) -$2.77; Provided an update on Parathyroid Hormone (PTH1-34) Nasal Spray, which is under development for the treatment of osteoporosis. An additional Phase II dose ranging study has been added to the clinical development program and is planned to begin later in 2007. Amendment to the contract with Procter & Gamble.

GulfMark Offshore (NASDAQ: GMRK) -$2.65; Company has agreed to issue and sell 2,000,000 shares of its common stock to Jefferies & Company, Inc. at a price of $38.50 per share. GulfMark has also granted Jefferies & Company an option to acquire an additional 300,000 shares to cover overallotments. The shares are being resold by Jefferies & Company to the public under a shelf registration statement.

Rockwell Automation (NYSE: ROK) -$2.60; Prudential downgrades ROK from Overweight to Neutral.

Station Casinos (NYSE: STN) -$2.17; Stock giving back some after yesterday's $15.80 pop on news of a $4.7 billion buyout bid.

Electronic Arts (Nasdaq: ERTS) -$1.53; Stock trading lower with no specific news released. The Company did announce the launch of Fight Night Round 3 for the PLAYSTATION3 this morning.
