Palm Inc. (Nasdaq: PALM) 27.2% HIGHER; Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ) announced Wednesday that it has agreed to acquire Palm for approximately $1.2 billion. The deal will see HP pay $5.70 per share for each share of Palm common stock, a 23 percent premium over the closing price of the shares on Wednesday.

IRobot (Nasdaq: IRBT) 21% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.24, 20 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.04. Revenue for the quarter was $95 million, which compares to the estimate of $83.76 million. Sees Q210 EPS of $0.06 - 0.08, versus ($0.04) consensus. Also sees Q210 sales of $90 - $95 million, versus $76 million consensus. Sees FY10 EPS of $0.35 - $0.40, versus $0.23 consensus. Also sees FY10 sales of $375 - $385 million, versus $350 million consensus.

Green Mtn Coffee (Nasdaq: GMCR) 14.5% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.60, in-line cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.60. Revenue for the quarter was $324.9 million, which compares to the estimate of $322.40 million. Sees sales up 62-65%, up from prior view. Announces a 3-for-1 stock split.

Baidu.com (Nasdaq: BIDU) 14.2% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $2.10, ex-items, versus the analyst estimate of $1.51. Revenue for the quarter was $189.6 million, which compares to the estimate of $180 million. The company also announced that it will change the ratio of its American depositary shares representing Class A ordinary shares from one (1) ADS for one (1) share to ten (10) ADSs for one (1) share.

Illumina (Nasdaq: ILMN) 10.5% HIGHER; reports Q1 adjusted EPS of $0.21, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.19. Revenue for the quarter was $192.1 million, which compares to the estimate of $178.61 million.

AXT Inc (Nasdaq: AXTI) 9.6% HIGHER; reports Q1 GAAP EPS of $0.08, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.04. Revenue for the quarter was $18.6 million, which compares to the estimate of $16.74 million. Sees Q210 EPS of $0.08 - $0.09, and sales of $20.7 - $21.5 million. The consensus sees an EPS of $0.04 and $18.1 million.

Covance (NYSE: CVD) 8.5% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.60, even with the analyst estimate of $0.60. Revenue for the quarter was $482 million, which compares to the estimate of $493.35 million. Announces cutting of 200 jobs. Sees Q210 EPS of $0.50, compared to the consensus of $0.65. FY10 EPS of $2.40 - $2.65, versus $2.70 consensus.

Akamai Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: AKAM) 8.2% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.35, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.31. Revenue for the quarter was $240 million, which compares to the estimate of $230.13 million. Authorizes $150 million extension on stock buyback.

First Solar (Nasdaq: FSLR) 6.9% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $2.00, versus the analyst estimate of $1.65. Revenue for the quarter was $568 million, which compares to the estimate of $545.96 million. Raises FY10 EPS guidance to $6.80-$7.30, versus the consensus of $6.12. Sees sales of $2.6-$2.7 billion, versus the consensus of $2.74B.

Tessera Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: TSRA) 6.9% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.20, 7 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.13. Revenue for the quarter was $64.3 million, which compares to the estimate of $61.50 million. Sees Q2 sales of $67-$70 million, versus the consensus of $64.9 million.

Power Integrations (Nasdaq: POWI) 6.6% LOWER; reports Q1 adjusted EPS of $0.49, versus the analyst estimate of $0.51. Revenue for the quarter was $71.5 million, which compares to the estimate of $72.53 million. Sees Q2 sales of $74 - $78 million, $72.4 million consensus.

Fair Isaac Corp. (Nasdaq: FICO) 6.6% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.28, versus the analyst estimate of $0.37. Revenue for the quarter was $143.7 million, which compares to the estimate of $154.89 million.

E*TRADE Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: ETFC) 6.5% LOWER; announced that Citadel Equity Fund Ltd. and Wingate Capital Ltd., affiliates of Citadel Investment Group, intend to offer, subject to market and other conditions, 170 million shares of its common stock pursuant to a shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The selling stockholders also intend to grant the underwriters an option to purchase up to an additional 25.5 million shares of common stock to cover over-allotments, if any.

Talecris Biotherapeutics Holdings Corp. (Nasdaq: TLCR) 6% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.35, 3 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.32. Revenue for the quarter was $381 million, which compares to the estimate of $388.16 million. Reaffirms FY10 guidance.

Epicor Software (Nasdaq: EPIC) 5.6% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.10, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.10. Revenue for the quarter was $99.3 million, which compares to the estimate of $99.60 million. Sees Q2 EPS of $0.12-$0.14, versus the consensus of $0.13. Sees Q2 sales of $104-$106, $105.5 million.

Ryland Group (NYSE: RYL) 5.2% LOWER; reports Q1 loss of $0.33, 3 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.36). Revenue for the quarter was $250.8 million, which compares to the estimate of $269.82 million.
