MediciNova, Inc. (Nasdaq: MNOV) 43% LOWER; and the Jasdaq Market of the Osaka Securities Exchange (Code Number: 4875), today announced that preliminary results from a hospital emergency department (ED)-based Phase 2b clinical trial evaluating MN-221 in patients with acute exacerbations of asthma did not statistically meet the primary endpoint, improvement in FEV1 (Forced Expiratory Volume in One Second) compared to placebo. However, MN-221 showed a significant benefit over placebo for FEV1 (liters) Area Under the Curve (AUC Hour 0-1, 0-2, 0-3) of change from baseline (p=0.043, p=0.050, p=0.066 respectively) in the data set defined below. NetApp, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP) 20.4% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.66, $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of $0.63. Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.7 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.68 billion. NetApp, Inc. sees Q1 2013 EPS of $0.10-$0.15.

Pandora Media (NYSE: P) 17% HIGHER; reported Q1 EPS of ($0.09), $0.08 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.17). Revenue for the quarter came in at $80.8 million versus the consensus estimate of $74.35 million. Sees Q2 2013 EPS of $-0.03-$-0.05, versus prior guidance of $99-$101 and the consensus of $-0.03. Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HPQ) 9.7% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.98, $0.07 better than the analyst estimate of $0.91. Revenue for the quarter came in at $30.69 billion versus the consensus estimate of $29.92 billion. Sees FY2012 EPS of $4.05-$4.10, versus prior guidance of $4.00 and the consensus of $4.03. Sees Q3 2012 EPS of $0.94-$0.97, versus the consensus of $1.02. HP also announced a massive restructuring effort.

American Capital Mortgage Investment Corp. (Nasdaq: MTGE) 3.4% LOWER; plans to make a public offering of 10,000,000 shares of its common stock. In connection with the offering, the Company intends to grant the underwriters an option for 30 days to purchase up to an additional 1,500,000 shares of common stock to cover overallotments.

PVH Corp. (NYSE: PVH) 2.6% HIGHER; reported Q1 EPS of $1.30, $0.04 better than the analyst estimate of $1.26. Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.43 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.4 billion. PVH Corp. sees FY2012 EPS of $6.15-$6.25, versus the consensus of $6.17.

Synopsys, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNPS) 2.1% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.53, $0.02 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.55. Revenue for the quarter came in at $432.6 million versus the consensus estimate of $417.26 million. Sees Q3 2012 EPS of $0.49-$0.51, versus the consensus of $0.46. Sees Q3 2012 revenue of $440-$448 million, versus the consensus of $412.47 million. Sees FY2012 EPS of $2.03-$2.07, versus the consensus of $2.03. Knight Capital (NYSE: KCG) 2% LOWER; disclosed its Q2 results will be harmed by the Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) IPO. The company said it lost about $30-$35 million on the trade and was not sure if any money could eventually be recovered.
