Market Rumors:

Bayer AG (NYSE: BAY): Continued rumors Novartis AG (NYSE: NVS) could make a takeover bid for the company.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. (NYSE: HOT): Speculation billionaire Kirk Kerkorian is accumulating a large stake in the company.

Countrywide Financial (NYSE: CFC): Reports in the Wall Street Journal, billionaire Warren Buffett could be interested in parts of the company if the company was sold. According to CNBC, Buffett says speculation on him buying CFC is just that - speculation.

Bausch & Lomb Inc. (NYSE: BOL): Activist investors Dan Loeb's Third Point disclosed a 9% 'passive' stake in the company, which could indicate investors will vote against the $65 takeover offer.

Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL): WSJ reports Delta Air Lines is expected to name the former CEO of Northwest Airlines (NYSE: NWA), Richard Anderson, as it's new CEO.
