Market Rumors:

Dow Jones (NYSE: DJ): Pearson (NYSE: PSO) confirms it will not purse a combination of CNBC (NYSE: GE), the Financial Times Group and Dow Jones. Also, the Dow Jones board will take over the strategic review process from the Bancroft family. In addition, after the close, Internet entrepreneur, Brad Greenspan, offered $60 per share for the company, although the bid is questionable.

Tyson Foods (NYSE: TSN): Rumors the company is the target of a takeover bid.

Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc (NYSE: MMC): Citigroup said the company is an "ideal" LBO candidate.

Netflix, Inc. (Nasdaq: NFLX): Resurfaced talk Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) could buy the company

International Rectifier Corporation (NYSE: IRF): Renewed takeover speculation.

Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. (NYSE: FCX): Renewed takeover speculation. Recently large holder Atticus Capital said they have, "met with, and may in the future continue to meet with, third parties to encourage them to consider strategic transactions involving the Company that are designed to maximize shareholder value for Company shareholders."

Past Rumors That Came True Today:
