Openwave Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: OPWV): Earlier today, Harbinger announced its intention to make an offer to acquire 40,389,560 shares of common stock for $335 million. Harbinger currently owns 13% of OPWV, the offer represents an additional 49% of the outstanding shares. Rumors surfaced late in the day that a strategic buyer could be stepping in with its own bid for the whole company.

Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq: PALM): Word the CFO cancelled from a conference driving takeover speculation. Later reports suggested the cancellation was due to an injury.
