With the recent pick-up in merger activity in the biotech space a number of stocks are seeing interest on speculation they could be next.
Recently, biotech company Millennium Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: MLNM) and smaller biotech's like Sirtris Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: SIRT), Encysive Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ENCY), and Restore Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ: REST) were acquired at hefty premiums.
Some rumored buyout targets in the space: Onyx Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: ONXX), OSI Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: OSIP), ISIS Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: ISIS), BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. (NASDAQ: BMRN). [LJ]
