Amarin Corporation plc (NASDAQ: AMRN) could see action Wednesday following reports from the UK's Daily Mail that AstraZeneca (NYSE: AZN) plans to launch a bid for the company.
While certainly to create a stir, the article appear very speculative in nature. That, and the fact that takeover speculation has been surrounding the name for months could keep a lid on things. Also, shares of Amarin rose 4.7 percent Tuesday on - you guessed it - takeover speculation.

Tuesday's rally was on the issuance of U.S. Patents 8,793,727 and 8,293,728 for Vascepa. One more patent next Friday. Don't think AZN can properly price buyout until NCE resolved which may be waiting for these patents.
