Man smashes Ai Weiwei sculpture at Italy art show opening Sep 21, 2024 11:07AM

ROME (Reuters) -A man shattered a sculpture by Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei on Friday during the opening of his exhibition at Palazzo Fava in the Italian city of Bologna, a spokesperson for the show said.

Footage from CCTV cameras - posted on Ai Weiwei's Instagram account - showed a man vigorously pushing the sculpture over, breaking it and then holding a piece of it over his head.

Ukraine says it hit two Russian munitions depots overnight Sep 21, 2024 10:22AM

KYIV (Reuters) - Ukraine said on Saturday it had hit two Russian munition depots overnight, in attacks that illustrated its growing capability to strike targets deep inside Russia.

A statement by Ukraine's military general staff said the munitions depots were at Tikhoretsk in southern Russia and Oktyabrsky in the western region of Tver.

Floods wreck Hungarian farmer's organic harvest Sep 21, 2024 10:02AM

NAGYMAROS, Hungary (Reuters) - Hungarian farmer Laszlo Batki was close to harvesting his crops of organic tomatoes, peppers, radishes and lettuce when the swollen River Danube flooded most of his small plot just north of Budapest this week.
