HONG KONG (Reuters) - A Hong Kong court adjourned a hearing to liquidate Kaisa Group to May 27, as the embattled Chinese property developer said it aims to iron out restructuring terms in the coming four weeks.

Shenzhen-based Kaisa has been working on an offshore debt restructuring for two years after defaulting on its $12 billion of offshore debt in late 2021.

BEIJING (Reuters) - The chairman of Chinese battery giant CATL visited a hotel in Beijing on Monday where Elon Musk is staying, after the Tesla CEO arrived in the Chinese capital a day ago on an unannounced visit.

Robin Zeng came out of an elevator and shook hands with two top Tesla China executives waiting in the lobby, Tom Zhu and Grace Tao, according to a Reuters witness. CATL is a key battery supplier to Tesla.

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Asian stocks got off to a positive start on Monday ahead of the Federal Reserve's policy meeting later in the week, while the dollar broke past the psychologically key level of 160 yen for the first time in decades.

Oil prices ticked down on expectations that higher-for-longer U.S. interest rates would dampen demand, while news of a potential Gaza ceasefire eased fears of supply constraints. [O/R]

(Reuters) - The U.S. military said on Sunday it had engaged five unmanned drones over the Red Sea that "presented an imminent threat to U.S., coalition, and merchant vessels in the region."

U.S. Central Command did not say in the statement if the drones were destroyed.
