(Reuters) - President Joe Biden will address a large gathering of police officers on Wednesday as he tries to prevent rival Donald Trump from capturing high-profile endorsements from their unions in the coming weeks.

Jury may be chosen for US Senator Menendez's corruption trial May 15, 2024 06:05AM

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Jurors could be seated as soon as Wednesday to determine whether Robert Menendez, New Jersey's senior senator, broke the law in what federal prosecutors called a years-long bribery scheme to benefit Egypt's and Qatar's governments, as well as himself.

The jury selection process will enter its third day in Manhattan federal court.

NYCB shares rise on deal to sell $5 billion mortgage warehouse loans to JPMorgan May 15, 2024 06:04AM

(Reuters) - Shares of New York Community Bancorp rose nearly 5% in premarket trading on Wednesday, after the lender agreed to sell a portfolio of about $5 billion in mortgage warehouse loans to JPMorgan Chase.

The deal with the largest U.S. bank by assets, announced late on Tuesday, will bolster liquidity at NYCB, which is planning to invest the proceeds from the sale in cash and securities.

US House committee to vote on bill to restrict BGI, WuXi AppTec May 15, 2024 06:02AM

(Reuters) - U.S. legislation that would restrict business with China's BGI, WuXi AppTec and certain other biotech companies on national security grounds will be voted on by a committee in the House of Representatives on Wednesday.
