MOSCOW (Reuters) -Five men who took hostages in a detention centre in Russia's southern region of Rostov claim they are supporters of ISIS, the Baza Telegram channel, which has sources in Russian law enforcement, reported on Sunday.
Russia's Federal Penitentiary Service said earlier that two employees of a pre-trial detention centre Rostov took two employees hostage.

CAIRO/RIYADH (Reuters) -Saudi Arabia's annual inflation rate remained at 1.6% for the third month running in May, government data showed on Sunday, with higher housing rents still the main driver.
Housing rents rose 10.5% from a year earlier underpinned by a 14.3% rise in apartment rents, according to the General Authority for Statistics.

HONG KONG (Reuters) - China's National Meteorological Centre on Sunday issued an alert for high temperatures as multiple regions across the country experience sweltering heat, while many southern provinces issued severe flood warnings due to heavy rains.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) -The Israeli military said on Sunday it would hold daily tactical pauses in military activity in parts of southern Gaza to allow more aid to flow into the enclave, where international aid organisations have warned of a growing humanitarian crisis.

CAIRO (Reuters) - The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Sunday a vessel 40 nautical miles south of al Mukha in Yemen had reported two explosions nearby, adding that the vessel and its crew were safe and proceeding to their next port of call.
Authorities are investigating, UKMTO said.
