MUMBAI/NEW DELHI (Reuters) - India's incoming government will be greeted with a $25 billion cheque from the central bank, giving it the option to either boost spending or narrow the fiscal deficit quicker, both of which will be cheered by investors.

Russian spy chief says Ukraine was directly involved in Moscow concert hall attack, says TASS May 24, 2024 01:52AM

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Ukrainian military intelligence was directly involved in a deadly attack on a concert hall near Moscow in which over 140 people were killed, the head of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) Alexander Bortnikov said, TASS reported on Friday.

Russia has made such allegations before. Bortnikov did not provide evidence to underpin his assertion.

SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Tesla has cut output of its best-selling Model Y electric car by a double-digit percentage number at its Shanghai plant since March, according to industry data and a source.

Japan factory output seen up, inflation complicates BOJ exit - Reuters poll May 24, 2024 01:20AM

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japanese factory output likely grew for a second straight month in April while retail sales picked up, a Reuters poll showed on Friday, highlighting budding signs of an economic recovery.

The rise in core consumer prices (CPI) in Tokyo areas, which become available a month earlier than nationwide, likely quickened in May.
