MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian investigators said on Friday they had charged Laurent Vinatier, an adviser to the Swiss nonprofit Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, with gathering information on Russia's military activities.
Russia's Investigative Committee, which handles serious crimes, said it intended to apply to a court to place Vinatier in custody.

PARIS (Reuters) - Paris 2024 organisers on Friday unveiled a display of the Olympic rings on the Eiffel Tower with 50 days to go until the Summer Olympics in the French capital.
The 29- by 13-metre construction, made of recycled steel, was installed on the south side of Paris' iconic monument by some 30 workers, using four cranes.

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - German inflation is proving stubborn, driven by a continued strong rise in wages, the Bundesbank said on Friday, a day after the European Central Bank cut interest rates on improving price growth prospects.

(Reuters) - German industrial production fell by 0.1% in April compared to the previous month, hampered by a weakening in the construction sector, the Federal Statistics Office said on Friday.
Analysts polled by Reuters had predicted a 0.3% rise.
Construction output fell by 2.1%, while the automotive industry grew by 4.2% month-on-month.
