(Reuters) - Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif discussed a new loan programme with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on Sunday, a statement from his office said.
They met on the sidelines of World Economic Forum in Riyadh.
Islamabad is seeking a new long-term Extended Fund Facility (EFF) after a current $3 billion standby arrangement expires this month.

(Reuters) - Private equity giant Blackstone is preparing to lodge an improved bid for Hipgnosis Songs Fund which owns the music rights of artists including Shakira and Blondie, Sky News reported on Sunday.
Blackstone's bid will trump independent music company Concord's proposal of $1.25 per share, the British broadcaster's report said, adding that Blackstone will lodge its improved bid as early as Monday.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - A Moscow court placed Konstantin Gabov, a Russian journalist, in pre-trial detention for two months on Saturday after state prosecutors accused him of taking part in the activities of an extremist organisation.
