DoJ seeks more details from U.S. Steel, Nippon Steel on proposed merger May 2, 2024 05:30PM

(Reuters) - The U.S. Department of Justice is seeking more details and documentary materials as part of an antitrust review of Nippon Steel's proposed $15 billion takeover of U.S. Steel, the American firm said on Thursday.

Commonly known as a "second request," it can mark the start of a lengthy legal process from which few mergers emerge successful.

Students erect pro-Palestinian encampments across major Canadian universities May 2, 2024 05:20PM

TORONTO (Reuters) - Quebec Premier Francois Legault said on Thursday the encampment at Montreal's McGill University should be dismantled as more students erected pro-Palestinian camps across some of Canada's largest universities, demanding they divest from groups with ties to Israel.

KYIV (Reuters) - British Foreign Secretary David Cameron promised three billion pounds ($3.74 billion) of annual military aid for Ukraine for "as long as it takes" on Thursday, adding that London had no objection to the weapons being used inside Russia.

(Reuters) - Cloudflare reported wider first-quarter operating loss on Thursday as sales and marketing costs jumped in the period, sending shares down 12% in trading after the bell.
