Granholm says new tariffs on Chinese vehicles crucial to US auto industry Jun 4, 2024 05:04PM

(Reuters) - U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said on Tuesday the Biden administration's plan to quadruple import duties on Chinese electric vehicles to over 100% is crucial to the health of the U.S. auto sector.

"We need to have this industry here. And if we didn't do that, we would just be ceding the entire territory to China like we saw happen with solar panels," Granholm said in an interview Tuesday with Reuters reporters and editors.

Google's privacy chief to exit Jun 4, 2024 05:00PM

(Reuters) - Google's chief privacy officer, Keith Enright, will leave the company this fall, after 13 years at the tech giant, a spokesperson for the Alphabet-owned company said on Tuesday.

"We regularly evolve our legal, regulatory and compliance efforts to meet new obligations and expectations. Our latest changes will increase the number of people working on regulatory compliance across the company," the spokesperson said.

(Reuters) - Hewlett Packard Enterprise forecast third-quarter revenue above Wall Street expectations on Tuesday, helped by upbeat demand for its artificial intelligence servers, sending its shares up 11% in extended trading.

The results reflect strong demand for the company's AI-optimized servers, powered by Nvidia hardware, as more firms seek high performance compute to run artificial intelligence applications.
