LISBON (Reuters) -Portugal joined other Western countries in expressing a positive view of Morocco's autonomy proposal for the disputed Western Sahara region, after Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel said on Tuesday the plan had a "serious and credible basis".

(Reuters) -Elon Musk's artificial intelligence startup xAI is working with a financier to secure up to $12 billion more for its expansion plans, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the situation.
Valor Equity Partners, an investment firm whose founder, Antonio Gracias, has close ties to Musk, is in talks with lenders to raise the capital, according to the report.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -President Donald Trump on Tuesday went on the attack against former President Barack Obama, over Russia and the 2016 election after his intelligence chief alleged a “treasonous conspiracy” committed by Obama and his officials.
Trump, asked in the Oval Office about the Jeffrey Epstein case, quickly pivoted into an attack on Obama, Democrat Hillary Clinton and a probe into whether Russia interfered with the 2016 election.

HOUSTON (Reuters) -Exxon Mobil has begun negotiations with the Trinidad and Tobago government to explore for oil and gas in up to seven deepwater blocks off the East Coast of the Caribbean country, which the top U.S. oil producer left more than two decades ago, two sources close to the talks told Reuters.

PARIS (Reuters) -French judges on Tuesday ordered that French Culture Minister Rachida Dati and former automobile executive Carlos Ghosn must stand trial for alleged corruption and abuse of power in a case focusing on consulting fees, a judicial source said.
