(Reuters) - The bird flu virus strain that infected a Texas dairy farm worker in March was lethal to ferrets in experiments designed to mimic the disease in humans, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported on Friday.
Seasonal flu, by contrast, makes ferrets sick but does not kill them, the CDC said.

(Reuters) - A court-appointed panel on Friday recommended how to divvy up a pool of $2.13 billion in legal fees from nationwide drug industry settlements over the U.S. opioid crisis, with top firms set to receive hundreds of millions of dollars.

(Reuters) - The S&P Dow Jones Indices said on Friday that private equity firm KKR & Co, cybersecurity company CrowdStrike and internet services provider GoDaddy will join the benchmark S&P 500 before markets open on June 24.
Shares of CrowdStrike rose 6% in extended trading. KKR and GoDaddy climbed 9% and 3.6%, respectively.
