CAIRO (Reuters) - Israeli tanks, under cover from heavy fire from air and ground, pushed further into Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, residents and Hamas media said, while airstrikes hammered Rafah in the south.

TBILISI (Reuters) - Armenian police detained 88 people at a protest in the capital Yerevan by demonstrators demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan over his decision to cede several border villages to Azerbaijan, Interfax news agency reported on Monday, quoting the Interior Ministry.

TOKYO (Reuters) -Japanese technology giant SoftBank Group swung to a quarterly profit on Monday versus the year earlier, reporting a net profit of 328.9 billion yen ($2.11 billion) for the January-March period.
The result mark the second straight quarter of profit for SoftBank, which has been long known for both volatile earnings and outsized bets on technology companies.

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Amazon said on Monday it would invest more than 1.2 billion euros ($1.3 billion) in its French operations and create more than 3,000 permanent jobs in the country.
The French presidency had said on Sunday that Amazon and other companies, including GSK and Accenture, would announce investments worth billions as part of the country's annual "Choose France" event, which begins on Monday.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Kremlin-owned energy kingpin Gazprom, once Russia's most profitable company, could face a long period of poor performance as it struggles to fill the gap of lost European gas sales with its domestic market and Chinese exports.
The company recently announced an annual net loss of $7 billion, its first since 1999, following a steep decline in trade with Europe.
