SAN SALVADOR (Reuters) - El Salvador's Congress on Wednesday signed off on a $1.5 billion debt issuance to finance its credit portfolio and the Central American nation's general budget.
The issuance, signed off on by 57 lawmakers out of the 60 who voted, could be made on domestic or international markets. The funds raised will go toward paying off debts, issued under previous administrations, that are set to mature.
GUATEMALA CITY (Reuters) - Walmart plans to invest some $700 million in Guatemala over the next five years, the company's Central America head said on Wednesday.
The announcement by regional executive Cristina Ronski came during the groundbreaking of a new store in the Central American country.

(Reuters) - The leader of Russia's Chechnya region, Ramzan Kadyrov, said early on Thursday he had met President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin and offered to send more fighters to help Moscow in its more than two-year-old conflict in Ukraine.

(Reuters) - Warner Bros Discovery's TNT network has signed a five-year deal with Walt Disney-owned ESPN to broadcast select College Football Playoff games, starting from the upcoming college football season.
Walt Disney said on Wednesday TNT will present two-round games for two years and include two quarter-final through 2028 season.

TOKYO (Reuters) - Nearly half of Japanese firms find the yen's slide beyond 155 to the dollar harmful to their business, roughly double the percentage of those who see the currency's weakness as a positive, a Reuters survey showed on Thursday.
