(Reuters) -GameStop expects first-quarter net sales to drop from a year ago, as customers transition to buying video games and collectibles online, while the retailer largely relies on brick and mortar stores.

Shares of the company fell 10% in premarket trading on Friday, as it also filed for a mixed-shelf offering of an unspecified size.

Ukraine stages long-range attacks on targets in Crimea and southern Russia, source says May 17, 2024 07:22AM

(Reuters) - Ukraine attacked a power substation in Russian-occupied Crimea, an oil depot and railway station in Russia's Black Sea port of Novorossiysk and an oil refinery in the port town of Tuapse overnight, a Kyiv intelligence source told Reuters.

Kyiv has stepped up strikes on energy facilities deep inside Russian territory, which they say are legitimate military targets supporting Moscow's 27-month-old war in Ukraine.

Global equity funds draw inflows on rate cut hopes, soft US economic data May 17, 2024 07:21AM

(Reuters) - Global equity funds experienced strong demand for the third consecutive week, in the seven days to May 15, bolstered by a softer U.S. jobs report and lower-than-expected inflation figures, which increased expectations that the Federal Reserve may begin cutting rates this year.

UK's CMA says Microsoft-Mistral AI tie-up does not call for probe May 17, 2024 07:15AM

(Reuters) - Britain's competition watchdog said on Friday the partnership between Microsoft and Mistral AI did not qualify for an investigation.

The announcement comes after the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said in April it was seeking comments on the AI partnerships between the firms, as well as between Amazon and Anthropic.
